Bathroom Mirror

I learned remodeling the master bathroom that mirrors are obscenely expensive.  For our bath, we ripped the gold frame off and reframed with leftover trim from another project.
However, this frame is gold and exceptionally ugly.
The previous homeowners LOVED a gold accent - not so much our taste!  But, I really liked the rectangular detail on the frame.  I took it out for my spray paint festival and layered the colors, a teal blue on the bottom and the white over it.
I probably put in seven layers of paint... there were a lot of things painted that day.  They start to run together...
And, my help painted themselves like Rambo.
After it dried, I lightly sanded the edges of the rectangles that were raised off the frame.
It is a slightly distressed look - and you can see the teal, the white, and just a touch of gold.  I really like it and it definitely modernizes the bathroom.

What do you think?

  1. I love the new look! I took frames & painted them black for my art wall to display my kids' artwork they do in school. I am now on the hunt for more frames to redo for our hallway. I love to redo things.
